I am planning on going on the Great Smoky Mountain Convoy in September, and I am prepping the Mutt for the trip. I have a couple of questions:
A) I will be towing the mutt on a tow dolly from Boston Mass, to Knoxville Tennessee, over three days down route 81. what speed would be good and do I need to disconnect the drive line. The front wheels will be on the dolly.
B) I would also like to install seat belts for the front seats. I friend gave me a NOS set of belts but it looks like to should be added to a ROPS kit. The rewindeers do not release and it has three buckles. I do not have any roll bars installed now. I have an early M151.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would disconnect the rear driveshaft at the diff.
Tie off the shaft securely or remove it completely at the transmission flange.
If you do ,Make sure to secure the flange so no oil leaks.
As far as the seat belts are concerned you can mount them to the body directly.
Imade some L shaped brackets that makes the job simpler
Can send you four if you want.
Also can send some pics of belts mounted in my A2.

Hi Fil,
I would love to see the pictures. I will be going to the Weare Rally next month and would love to look over your M151. I could pick up the L shaped brackets at that time and see where you mounted yours.

Re: Seat belts
Without the ROPS you will be only able to use the lap belt, for the should belt you will not have an anchor point. The lap belt is not an automatic belt as we know them from our daily drivers. You can only extend it with one movement and then it will pull back but no more extension of the belt is allowed. The shoulder belt works like any normal seat belt with an inertia reel but you won't be able to use it.
If a lap belt really provides any significant protection is a different discussion and will probably depend very much on the accident situation if it will be helping or be counterproductive.
