Directionals no working ,Don't know witch way to turn

Unread post by Lindsay36551 » July 3rd, 2017, 11:23 am

The other day I pulled out the A-2 to get Parade ready.
Noticed the signals aren't working! The light at the switch comes on but stays on (NO BLINKING).
Is this because of an inline short or bad ground.
It does this on all 4 corners of the vehicle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
best regards

Hey Horst!
M35 has moved down the road!
When you say BOX do you mean new switch on coloum or am I looking for something under the dash?
Also no lights working at all thru turn signals.
I can paint the hell out of these trucks !but when it comes to electrical I'm lost!! :) :)

ah ok, too bad...

I was talking about the actual flashing unit, that is a black box under the dash. But it seems like you have more problems than not working turn signals. Let's wait for the electrical guru George to chime in.

If you have no lights on at the corners then it could be a bad main light switch or it could be as simple as you may have turned the main switch to a restricted setting. Is the main light switch set for road use? One click to the right on the top switch. If so then the switch may be dirty inside. Hold the lockout and run the switch back and forth though all of the positions a few times to clean the contacts and see if this works. If not then it is time to break out the volt meter and see if the problem is the main switch, the turn signal or the turn signal controller on the floor above the high beam switch. There will be a ground wire on that switch down there, make sure it is grounded.

hi

if the control light at the switch works the switch get power from the flasher
put a 21 watt bulb (one side ground the other side at the wire )at the wire A flasher plug must at at flasher (put a needle at the wire for contact )
if the bulb blinking fast it is the switch at the steering column
if you have no power at A tray at B flasher C is the ground and sits vat the left fender where the ground from the alternator is connected
at the steering column switch wire 467 is power wire for the direction lights it gets his power from the light switch same number

good luck george
