Found a new location for serial number

Unread post by Eddie Holland » July 13th, 2017, 11:02 am

I was moving one of my 3 M151s around. The early M151, that doesn't have a motor in it. I noticed the serial number is stamped on the top of the cross member, right behind the front differential. I'm sure some of you all knew this but this was new to me.

which number? If it is the same number as the data plate then it was done at a motor pool somewhere and it is not a standard deal. That number is not issued until the vehicle is assigned at the military depot so it would have already been completely assembled and no way to get the number there. It would have been put there during an engine swap.
