dirty gas tank

Unread post by wgwe5usmc » August 23rd, 2017, 6:46 pm

I'm looking for some advice on cleaning the gas tank on my M151A2. It has some sediment and maybe some rust on the inside of the tank. I was thinking about taking the tank off and flushing it out and possibly using some pea gravel to shake around in it to loosen up the corrosion. Is there any chemical I could use to help clean it up?

Welcome to the site, usmc, there are cleaners out the for cleaning tanks, if its not too bad, just let soak with vinegar, just remember to use baking soda after cleaning to neutrilize the acid.
