Clutch pilot bearing grease

Unread post by Xloflyr » August 24th, 2017, 3:59 pm

What type of grease is an acceptable substitute for GAA that is required for my 'A2 clutch pilot bearing and bore during installation? Is the pilot bearing to be packed by hand like a wheel bearing? Thanks

Any general purpose grease. Oil may not hold up over time.

Thanks Rick - do I pack the bearing race like normal bearing sets? Can't seem to find this referenced in my -34 anywhere

Nothing fancy, put some grease on your finger and wipe it in there and you are done. All you need is some on the bearing, the shaft takes up all the open space so filling that space just makes getting the transmission in harder.
