Oil Pressure Safety Switch Contamination

Unread post by bazookajoe » September 24th, 2017, 6:49 am

I was recently given an A-1 engine/tranny combo and have started the rehab process and noticed that when i removed the oil safety switch some white powder came out of one of the ports...approximately about thimble full, so i used air pressure to finish blowing it out. My question is does anyone have any idea what that material could be. All the vacuum lines were hooked up so i doubt it was insect infestation......any thoughts???

Probably the result of some electrolysis working on the metals in there.
