Engine components, black or olive drab?

Unread post by Motorcityman » October 9th, 2017, 6:05 pm

Wondering what color the engine and components were when they left the factory? Block, head, oil pan, intake manifold, air cleaner assembly, valve cover, and the radiator?

Depends on the year, A1 was all green and A2 was black. That is good for the most part. Some really early straights had blue engines. Replacement engines that went into A1's were sometimes black depending on where they came from. You could have a replacement black engine (most replacements were A2 engines) with the transferred over A1 parts being green.
