Rear harness A1 and A2

Postby Motorcityman » October 25th, 2017, 10:54 am

I'm looking to use an A2 rear harness for my A1.

Are the wire numbers the same between the two? I realize there are 2 extra wires for the fuel pump and fuel meter. Do the trailer receptacle wires match? Also the turn lights and brake lights, I've never seen the back of an A2 composite, are there 3 wires like on an A1?

I found two schematics that comore the A1 and A2 and there are 4 wires on the composite light, the extra most likely being the blackout light. My main question is are the plugs as simple as plug and play in the two different models?

I think you will have to add a short jumper to the blacklight stop lamp and then supply power to the in tank fuel pump if you still have one, I believe composites are 4 wire.

As far as the wire numbers, yes, they are the same throughout the M-series. Here is a list of them
