Manifold Vacuum Test

Unread post by dr. trinkmann » November 3rd, 2017, 3:50 am

I would like to do the Vacuum leak test as discribed in the TM 9-2320-218-20 but I can't handle with theese values and units given in table 4-2.

In the table the values are offered in inches (cm), what are units for length measurement.
A pressure, even if it is a Vacuum (negative pressure) can't be stated with a length unit.

Available universal Vac-Gauges have faces with bar or psi or both combined.

What do these values/units mean?
Can someone explain please?
Does anyone have a fitting gauge and can post a pic of it?

Thanks a lot!

I suspect it is inches of mercury, a common measure for atmospheric pressure Doctor.

Knowing that made me find online converters for 'Inches of mercury to Bar' very easy!
Now I only have to translate that table 4-2 in Bar values and get a vac-gauge.

Thanks a lot kmam!!
