Differential suppliers

151 A-1 differentials had a prefix number 8 and the A-2 number started with 11, Is there a difference at all between the two? I was also wondering who made these units. I see some replacement units built in Korea, are these quality units. I would assume so.

I don't know about the 8 but the A1's used a 900 series. The 1100 series were supposed to be quieter but considering they all use the same parts I don't see how that is possible. I have gone from the 900 to the 1100 and did not see any difference and the 1100 was a depot rebuild.

I agree wholeheartedly Rick, i too have swapped out an early diff for a later one and no difference in noise.
