Front Shafts

Unread post by Surveyor » April 25th, 2018, 4:41 pm

Friend emailed the following to me. No mechanic by any means so maybe someone else has an answer...

Why are the front driveshaft yokes not in time or lined up like other driveshafts? Even the rear one on 151 and A2 are lined up. I always thought it was a balance thing for the yokes to be in line. That has bugged me for 41 years.

Because of compound angles. The driveshafts are not centered so they are working on two planes at once. Now he can chase his bugs away.
