Unread post by Lindsay36551 » July 5th, 2018, 3:54 pm

What is the best way to remove windshield glass and gasket from an A2 frame?
I would like to save both.
Thanks

really mop the dish detergent on the inside of rubber ...take a screwdriver or a paint stick and work the soap down inside the rubber...with the help of a friend both of you try to work the rubber up while gently apply pressure on the glass ...work from top of the glass down...go slow and easy it should should move outward and free up....you know the glass is old and it may break.....now if you want to save the glass so you can break it on install.. just take a razor knife and cut the rubber lip off the inside and gently take it out....best way because the rubber is old and hard anyway...have fun and remember this is a hobby...

lindsay, at Rickf's request, i wrote a "how to" on both removal and replacement of the windshield. if he still has it, it would answer all your questions.

Did you write that on here or send it to me in e-mail? If in e-mail and I didn't put it up on here at the time it is probably lost in the thousands of saved mails and would take more time than I have right now to find. If it was posted on the forum then do a search in the search box. That is all I would be able to do and again, right now I am very busy.

The original gaskets are still available, I used one from the glass shop on my Titan.
