Hi guys,
today I did a little refill with the transmission-/transfercase using SAE 80W90 Gl4 (about 1,5 Liters refilled).
There is an oil-leakeage and I wanted to localize it, so I did an outside cleaning of the housing.
So it seems the seal of the rear propeller's output has gone bad (#3 in Picture).

My question: Is it possible to replace the seal 'on the fly' without pulling the powerpack??
thx a lot

Re: oil-leak: transmission/transfer
That is the easiest of all of the transmission output seals to replace since you can pull off the rear housing and replace the seal on the bench. Most seal kits come with seals and wear sleeves for the yokes. You do have to install the wear sleeve since the seal is sized for the sleeve and it will leak badly of you don't use it.

Re: oil-leak: transmission/transfer
Put the yoke in the freezer, the wear sleeve will go on easier.
