Rick once again i think you are right. I looked under the dash last night thinking the same thing. There is a little flat tab on the side of the brake pedal that has a small hole. Sure looks like a tab for a spring to attach to me. No spring on mine. I will try to locate it in a manual. Thanks.

The only spring I find in the manual is 8754523. Helical spring. Looks like it goes around the shaft. Is there another return spring or is that it? Looks like a pain to change :/

Just looked at the 20P and yes that is the pedal return spring. Is yours there and maybe the pedal is just in need of some lubrication on the pivot point? You could probably get a whole used pedal assembly for less than the spring.

yes my spring is there. Talked to Mark @ Rapco . He said he never heard of the spring wearing out before. But come to think of it when the brake lines where off and the wheel cylinders off the pedal just dropped to the floor. He said maybe the spring was disconnected but it looks connected to me. I think the spring may just be worn out. I saw a new one somewhere for $10. or he said he could find me a used one.

Sounds like it is disconnected or the tab is broken, they don't really wear out.

i wonder if the brake lines are disconnected and the spring is in working order should the pedal come to the top? Mine was all the way on the floor when the lines were off.

Shoot it up with PB blaster and exercise it throughly. If it still won't work after that, it's time to pull it out and service it.

Even with no brakes it should be at the top. Sounds like the spring is broken or disconnected.
