A potential new member, "Fixemupfred" sent me some photos of his 1971 Ford-built M151A2. He has a couple of questions and I have to admit, I'm stuck also.
The first is related to the holes in the passenger-side dash. My first guess was that the holes related to a USMC radio installation with the gauge in the hole and the emergency shut-off switch next to it. However, Fred's mutt is an ex-US Army mutt and the holes in his dash don't match the sequence of holes on one of the ex-Barstow radio mutts.
The second refers to some sort of adapter on the inlet manifold.
Any suggestions or positive IDs will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance from Fred and me. Here's the pictures:-

Re: RE: Manifold and dash - Ford A2
The dashboard appears to be from a truck, the hole looks like the hole for a diagnostic plug used on the CUCV and later vehicles. Or maybe a trailer connector for whatever reason. What charging system does this have? The manifold adapter I have no idea.

Re: RE: Manifold and dash - Ford A2
A friend of mine had an A2 with a similar hole in the dash.
He said that the vehicle was a training model for mechanics using the
STE/ICE system.
Instead of connecting individual cables there is one connector that was used for later vehicles
The fitting on the intake manifold is a transducer that of course would measure vacuum.
Hope this helps.
