If I turn by hand and put in first gear shafts do turn. So must be the clutch?

I have removed this engine twice. So no big thing. Actually I like it. Way better to remove than on my Willys MB.

If you are turning the gear in the transmission and the shafts are turning then it is in the clutch. Or the input shaft sheared off! You are bypassing the connection of the engine to the transmission this way. I am quite curious to see what you eventually find.

O.k. I will pull out the engine then and see what comes out. However, work keeps me busy the next 3-4 weeks until I have time.
