Re: No oil pressure
I would run a load of Marvel through there for a couple of short oil changes to clean out the rest of the areas.

Re: No oil pressure
I put a quart of MMO in it, it's my go to cure all, kinda like a dose of castor oil back in the day, and some $10 a gallon oil from the local tractor supply, going to run it awhile and pull the plug, motor is really clean to have gunk like that in the pan, it was probably running Quaker State back in the day.rickf wrote:I would run a load of Marvel through there for a couple of short oil changes to clean out the rest of the areas.
Re: No oil pressure
I ran Quaker State for many, many years. It was considered to be one of the better oils since it came from light crude.

Re: No oil pressure
hi
if the MUTT has standing for years it is posseble the oilpump is dry and wil not suck the oil up
normaly if you stop the engine the pressure valve go closed ( no pressure ) so wen stucks the pressure is high and the filter gasket blow up
you can try this
take the oilfilter off
take a oilcan and put oil at the two holes ( one go to the pump and wil lubricate it ) it wil take a time do this twice
put the filter back on
start with no contact and what happens at your seperate oil gage

Re: No oil pressure
Thanks for the advise George, I poured oil in every hole I could find, , even put 3/4" hose over threaded filter mount and blew threw it, mine turned out to be sludge.
