clutch pedal free play

Unread post by Mark » June 2nd, 2019, 8:09 pm

My pedal has no free play(1.5")went to lengthen the rod but can't as the z tube bracket will not move out any more.Between last adjustment and now is 4000 miles, 5 years. The clutch doesn't slip, I guess the clutch is nearing the end of the service life so it will start slipping til no go no more.I guess I expected the clutch to last longer

I'm adjusting my clutch also, but I've never heard of a z tube bracket. Can someone describe it please.

hi

you must turn the rod IN not out to get more play at the bearing

i think for the Z tube he ment the shaft between the adjusting rod and the rod at the pedal

The Z tube, or Z bar, is the piece that the rod from the pedal and the rod to the clutch arm attach to. It goes between the frame and the engine and the bracket mentioned is mounted on the frame.
