hi

finaly i have my engine apart
cranckshaft is as new at the bearings STD all bearings
the cylinders are a bit worn out STD
there are groove`s inside
the block is at my friend for the 2`oversize bore

i have two qwestions
at the block are two tube`s at the drawing no 7 and 8
are they press in the block or are they a loose item ??

at the drawing are four seals at the rear bearing holder no 12.1 and 12.2
at my gasket set are only two ??????

George, #8 is the oil level dipstick tube and yes, it is pressed in. #7 I am not sure, it shows up in the -34P as the distributor oil feed so it has to be in the block and I would only guess it is pressed in. As far as the seals I have never seen them as you show them even though I also see them on a later -34P. I don't remember if the pan gasket for the rear of the pan has those tabs on it or not but what I do on all vehicles is use RTV sealant at all corners like that and timing covers and such.

Isn't the #7 (distributor gear ) tube visible under the poppet cover? I'm with Rick, probably pressed in from top of block, though I have never had one out.

thanks i think
tube 8 is at the block for the oilpressure tube to the rockerarms
tube 7 is the return oil tube to the block it go`s the return oil over the ignition drive

the place of the seals is normal only are there four or two

George, The descriptions I gave were from the -34P manual. I kind of thought the tubes were what you are describing but I have to admit I never really looked at them. Are you looking to try to get them out for some reason, or just curious about them?

after my block was at my friend i saw the tube`s at the parts manual
now i know they wil stay in place at the block
