OK Tipper Tiger, For one thing, we were NOT swabbies, Dirt sailors perhaps, but not swabbies. And Second, I could of given you $3.00 change for a $5.00. And third, whats this "Sir" stuff, I don't remember these as titles in cross over branches of the services. You know, maybe we should have a seperate thread for these compliments to exchange to each other. Let me know if I'm moving too fast for you....take your time. Tom

Ralph and Tom, I think most of us who had fathers, brothers, uncles and even in my aunts who served in WW II have enormous respect for their service. Many of them left the USA for years at a time, unlike the 12 month tours that those of us who served in VN underwent. Rick didn't even make a year as he got wounded and shipped home, of course the first part of that trip was by chopper which is why he shows me some {limited} respect occasionally!
I was actually commissioned in the US Army as a Combat Engineer from O.C.S. in 1966 but later saw the light in sky and went on to flight school. So I could be considered with a little latitude an Army Seabee. Similar missions. I recall that WWII film on the Seabees well but haven't seen it in years.
Anyway, anyone who served in any capacity and at any time has my respect.
Welcome home, brothers.
