151A2 Rear Wheel Bearing #'s

Unread post by ECVJeeps » February 2nd, 2009, 12:32 pm

I am working on a 1974 M151A2 with a friend and I could not salvage a number from the old bearnigs.
The bearings that it calls for in the manual I have gives the same number for both inner and outer bearings.
Does anyone have the correct numbers for the rear hub bearings?

The manual I am useing is a copy of a copy and not all that clear.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pat

Pat, Welcome to the group. Those bearings are available as a complete set through any of the dealers listed in the resource list on this forum. I can tell you from experience that it is cheaper to go that route than to go with all of the civvie parts separately.
I pretty much exclusively use Saturn Surplus.

TNJ Murray has a complete set for one wheel for $36.00.

I would call first because what is listed on the site is usually off by a few bucks.

I think that Frontline has them for $ 15.00 per wheel. Remember it is also wise to change the seals at the same time since it is almost impossible to remove the inside bearing without damaging the inner seal.

Pat

If you have a worn copy of a copy of the manuals, you can find most of them right here as a PDF file. They are free, no charge. Download the ones you want and save them on your computer and you can print out any pages you need when you are working on something. Just go to the top of this page and click on "Manuals" and it will take you to our library of M151 manuals.

BTW, the wheel bearings are the same, front and rear.

Good Luck
Raymond
