I just purchased a fording kit and wanted to ask what the air intake tube cap should look like?
The cover I received is the same as the one you would have on the air filter housing if your vehicle doesn't have a fording kit in place.
I was thinking that the air intake cap should be a mushroom cap shaped cover. Any insight or photos of the proper cap would be great.
Thanks,
Litz

I had purchased a NOS fording kit and it did not have a cap at all. You use the cap which is normally on the air cleaner.

Horst,
No one has replied to dispute your take on the cover, so I guess I am good to go as I now have 2 of the covers you described.
Thanks for the info,
Litz

Litz, Horst is once again correct. The proper top or cover for the Deep Water Fording Kit is the pre-cleaner to the air cleaner. Later models it was called the Emission Control Air Cleaner Intake.
