Wheel alignment

Unread post by Litz » March 14th, 2008, 5:23 pm

I have a 1972 AMG M151A2 which will need to have a mechanical vehicle inspection completed before I am allowed to register it here where I live.

My A2's suspension was torn down and reassembled, so the wheel alignment will need to be adjusted. Can anyone refer me to some specs for setting the 4 wheel independent suspension to manufacturer specifications?

Thanks,
Litz

The -20 or -34 manual should have the specs on setting the allignment.

TM 9-2320-218-34-1 manual

10-4

Looked up alignment in the TM 9-2320-218-34-1 manual as K8 suggested and the info for the front alignment is spelled out. Unfortunately, there is nothing that I saw about the rear wheels.

If anyone has experience or reference to specs for the rear wheels and alignment please let me know.

Thanks,
Litz

I don't think there is an alignment for the rear wheels. If you've bolted the suspension up correctly with good servicable parts I think they are good to go.

I've taken photo copies of the TM pages on the front end alignment to the tire stores and they have done it for me. Need to find an old time shop though....kids today don't have a clue if the PC doesn't tell them... :)

Thanks
Joe

There is no adjustment for the rear, If it is out then something is loose or bent.
