Rick, I am changing the joint as I stated above. I was going to use the grease to see if my clunk goes away by doing that. If it does not, then its my diff. Trying to think ahead so I can order ALL my parts and go through the rear all the way across. I am trying to get this thing on the road for memorial day so I cant wait all month.

Ah memories of a frightening ride! I still get a chill when I drive by the spot.

Read Muttgurus treatise on properly lubing joints before installing. Old NOS joints may have dry congealed grease in them that has to go. Trying to grease them later may not work properly. Fresh grease will only come out clear passages not all.

Dont screw around change the U joints ASAP.
