Emergency Hand Break?

Unread post by TrueXena » May 29th, 2008, 8:32 am

Hubby wants to know if the hand break for the A1 is the same as used on the Humvee?

He's going off on a mission next week, and he's going to scrounge around who-ever's motor pool to see if he can come back with some parts. I told him I'd ask, even though I'm fairly sure that the A1 hand break handle is different from the A2, so more than likely the Humvee one will be different too.

THEY ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE M998. I HAVE THE EARLY A1 AND A2 HAND BREAK IF NEEDED.

Yes the hand brake is different from a hmmwv and a 151. What parts are you looking for? Basically there are three parts the handle, the band, and the drum.
There is one nut on a M151 that is very difficult to remove.....

Yeah, I was pretty sure they where different, but now I can say "I asked the *guys*" and he will be happy with my answer. ;)

All I know for sure right now, is that it doesn't have the handle, not sure what else is missing. I keep telling the hubby that we need to get just one thing done at a time, or the thing will be a complete mess, and I wont be able to put it back together right. ;)

OhioMutt, I'll def think of you when we actually get to the hand break, but for now I'm just thinking about the engine. Any luck on finding me a complete rebuild kit yet, or any of the other parts I listed?
