carb Adjustment

Unread post by vtdeucedriver » June 13th, 2008, 5:44 pm

Hey all,
The carb I have has the adjustment for the idle mixture. What is the adjustment. I copied the ovh off one of the web sites but it does not mention how far out he adjustment is, just to be careful not to run it all the way in tight.

Thanks all

hello

on the mixture screw it is not to tel how mutch in or out
first of all set al the standard settings right
ignition points gap and timing
valve `s opening
now you can set the carb
turn the screw in til the end NOT TO FIRM
otherwise the tip of the screw wil break of in the carb (than you must have a new carb )
set it aboud 1 1/2 turn out
run the engine on idle revs turn the screw slowly in and out til you have the highesd rev
now the mixture is right
now set the engine on the right idle revs thad you want
look again if the mixture screw is in the highesd revs
this with all the air lines and airfilter on the carb

thads all to it
george

To add to what George said, drive itfor a day or so andif you like it put a small drop of nail polish on the screw. This will kepp it from moving.
