Combo Vac/Fuel Pump

Postby Rainman » October 25th, 2012, 11:30 am

Recently saw an old post elsewhere with Rick asking for details and numbers on a combination fuel and vacuum pump for an M151. Been awhile since I posted these so here goes again...

Check the wear pattern on the operating foot. That looks to be upside down.

Will look around to find it Rick. I took those pictures back when the MVPA national was at Evansville.
What will I notice about the wear pattern, or you just want a picture of it?
I failed to mention this was on a demil pulled engine I paid $7 for as is. I never personally had it running and I no longer have the engine. :)

In the first picture of the pump off of the engine you are looking right at the surface that would normally run on the cam. In the mounting position shown it would be on the top/side of the cam. If I remember correctly the stock pump rides on the bottom/side. That flat would be facing up. I am thinking that you might see a wear pattern right on the thin edge. That flange on the pump where it mates to the block sure does look like a Chevy V8 pump pattern. I might have to dig one up and see. The arm would be different though.

That may be the pump but compare the arm to a 151 and I think you will see a difference.
