ROPS bar padding

Unread post by Xnavfltdoc » March 3rd, 2015, 11:27 am

Anyone have an easy way to take off ROPS bar padding? I have tried grinder, and drill with wire brush attachment. I melted the insides of my grinder its DOA. Wire brushes on drill did ok job but wear out too fast. Thanks. Scott

Cut off the foam and tape with a knife as close to the metal as you can and then burn the rest with a torch and wire brush it off. Dirty, nasty, smelly job but as you have found out, not too many options. It was designed to not come off and for once they got it right.

That's what you need on your house pipes to keep them from freezing. I have a "infomercial cut anything forever knife
And cut it off, but it's the best adhesive I've ever seen.

High density pipe insulation. Or, if you want to pay a lot more for the same, thing go to Summit or Jegs and look for roll bar padding.
