R442 question
It appears the overhang of the sponson mount for the R442 is going to interfere with the back seat. I am using the holes put in there by the military and the RT246 kit is already in place using it's original holes, so I'm pretty sure of the correctness of the position.
Is this normal? If so, what does one do about that?

Re: R442 question
You kind of wiggle the seat in from the side. It does overhang the side of the seat just a little.

Re: R442 question
It may be that it only ever had an RT-524 installed while in service in which case the installer would not have worried about the exact location of it. When I installed my RT-524/R-442 combination I placed the R-442 on the guard and adjusted it so the back seat would just clear it when folding it up. I marked that location and then placed the RT-524 next to it and did the installation based on that.
If you want to use existing holes you may have to live with a seat problem.

Re: R442 question
Yep, I'm afraid that's going to be the case because unless I can raise it (which would look awkward) the mount is definitely in the way and no amount of wriggling is going to change that. So, it appears that the only way around it is to pluck the seat up and out to make a change in it's position. Phooey!
Re: R442 question
That's the way the jeeps on active duty. Was really never a problem, we never messed with the seat except at the wash rack.
