6707 no longer working

Unread post by Horst » May 14th, 2017, 10:53 am

Has anyone managed to repair a 6707 antenna base? No longer changes bands when I change frequencies on the radio. What would be a typical failure in the antenna base?

I talked to a couple radio guys last year about this and it is a common problem with them. They have plastic gears that go bad plus they apparently are not as weater resistant as they should be and get trashed up inside. I have not taken mine apart since I do not use it but once I put on one of my working ones I plan on getting into it.

Check the voltages gping to the mx6707 fro the radio to be sure it is the mx6707 and not a radio/cable problem. Also, it is important to open the drain screw on the mx6707 every so often to allow any condensation to drain out.
