I have an AB 15 I am trying to find a location to mount on my M151. I see them mounted on the passenger side with a brush guard and I have the mount and guard but, with the MX6707 mounted on the passenger rear corner and anchored forward while driving, the AB15 bent down and sticking out the back seems like a lot of antenna hanging out the rear. My first concern is parking in the garage with it. It looks like it will stick out 4 or 5 ft. Has anyone mounted one on the driver's rear corner down low? Are there any pictures of other locations other than the passenger's side?
Thanks,
CT

Re: Ab15 mount location
I think there are two other mounts you could try for a dual setup. If you don't want to go the pass side mid mount you could try an early corner bracket or you may like the early box mount. Ebay items are not mine. Just for pics. Also there are better prices on these out there. I think fair radio has an early corner for $25 (not sure which side it is) and I've seen cheaper on the box ones for sure even on NOS ones.

Both can mount on the drivers side... just make sure you get the correct one for early corner angle iron style.

If you look at the first page in this link you will see the AB-15 mount I have on mine. It is an early mount and it will be tough to find but with that one the antenna can be folded forward. Also keep in mind that in most cases they did not use the full three sections on the AB-15 antenna unless needed for reception.

Take you antennas off when the vehicle is stored. The mounts will thank you.

Re: Ab15 mount location
I'm not a radio authority by any means but I agree, the practical issues involved with having antennas really boil down to having to spend a little bit of additional time readying your truck for movement, or in your case, being put in the garage.
It takes some getting used to (Remember that tree I used to be able to just barely get under before you had antennas? Well I can't do THAT anymore! ) Ask me how I know! Yeah, I learned the hard way and what a humbling experience!
So, depending upon your circumstance and no matter where you mount your antenna, just be prepared for the possibility that you may have to pluck that antenna off your truck. All the antenna bags that are being offered....you know, the ones that nobody wants? Well, they come in very handy from time to time!
Cheers,
TJ

Re: Ab15 mount location
Thanks for the advice. I picked up an antenna bag. I don't mind removing the antenna, I have the stow the AS1729 any way. As fragile as the AB15 sections are, it's better to remove and store then and the mount won't take on the bent set.
