CX 4721 power cable wanted

Unread post by Ralph Fuller » July 21st, 2010, 8:26 am

CX 4721 power cable wanted (4 pins on each end). 18" between the radio and the R442 connections, so it doesn't have to be very long.

I still haven't mounted my speaker for the R442. Thinking about mounting it under the radio.

Pat: I got the R442 on Ebay a couple of months ago. I looked under military radio there.

I put the speaker bolt in place of the corner bolt ofthe MT-1029, keeps it clear of the seat so you can still fold it.

They can be imported, but shipping is exorbitant due to the weight of the radios. A funny side note: our gov't demilled them by removing certain parts from the radios, and makes us sign EUC's saying we won't sell outside the US. Then our gov't gives away radios and parts to other countries. So then, the only ones NOT having parts are us, and WE have to buy them from people in other countries. I got my missing parts from Canada, Israel, and Australia. All for a radio that is legal to use here with a ham radio license....

Homerguy (Pat): I think the R442 came from Robert Masters, RollinSmoke2@SBCGlobal.net and cost was just over $200 including shipping cost. Bought in December 2009.

Here is the final installation
Image

LS 454 Speaker bolt was cut 3/4" in order to fit under the radio mount using the two (2) existing bolts. This way I didn't have to drill any new holes in the sponson. The bolt holes lined up perfectly with the mount that comes with the speaker.

The correct cable length for RT to R-442 is 2 1/2 ft, r-442 to r-442 is 1 1/2 ft..

this came in other lengths for other applications so be careful you don't get one that won't fit. I have a box of 16 1/2 inch ones that won't work for a mutt... 2 inches short...

Is the 2'6" NOS cable? I only have to go 18".
