Will a PRC-10 talk to a PRC-25 or 77?

The PRC-6 is a Korean War era handie talkie. It is compatible with the PRC-77/25s but to change frequency you have to change the crystals internally and retune. As for the power supply they run off of obsolete batteries. Can't remember if they were standard tube radio batteries but I'm sure it requires power for the tube filaments as well as a high voltage 'B' supply so you're looking at needing to provide it with at least two different voltages and probably need more than just that. I know they still sell the 22.5V batteries but am not sure about the 45V cells. Personally, I think they'd make a better display piece.

Hey Snock,
Your correct about the PRC-6. I have a few new sets of tubes for them and crystals aren't too hard to find. My radio tech has a battery holder he built for the PRC-6 and it makes it about as heavy as a PRC-77 that you have to hold up to your head to use. Once again when it comes to quality handie talkies The PRT-4 and PRR-9 are small, lightweight, cheap, and easy to make batteries for. How's that new M151 you picked up Snock? Heck, with Steve selling his and Bob's up for sale, the G838 is loosing a big part of the original Mid-Ohio Rally contingent.

Well I looked it up and you would need 90V, 45V, -4.5V, and 1.5V to run the PRC-6. I figure one C or D for the 1.5V, 3 AAs for the -4.5V, and two of the B size batteries or 4 of the AA size 22.5V batteries.

Rainman, the 151 is running well now. I had a few minor problems but have since fixed them. I cleaned the carb and set the float height. Otherwise it has ran pretty well. My 151 was Steve's jeep so you'll still see it around.
