Unread post by Crusader_22 » January 15th, 2011, 10:40 pm

Are there any frequencies which are in the PRC-25's frequency range that has chatter I can listen for? Out side of the Military, does anyone use this area of the spectrum?

All dressed up and nowhere to go...

*sigh*

it varies around the country, but there are probably some fire companies and stuff like that you can listen to in the 40's, ham operators in the 50's.

Hey Jeff,
Here's some of the FCC freq allocations covered by the PRC 25/77. Before you invest hundreds of hours chasing a signal I would suggest using a scanner that covers the freq range and let it find the signals for you. There are cordless phones and baby monitors too, just depends on your area. You'll seldom find them just clicking around for hours at a time without modern technology. Radio shack sells an annual list of frequencies in your area called "Call Sign". Your dealing with 30.00 mhz to 75.95 mhz range.

Google "Radio Reference" and you should be able to find something in your area.
