RT-524 canvas Cover on Ebay

Unread post by Rainman » March 23rd, 2012, 12:46 pm

Not mine and not a steal, but it's available and not plus $30 shipping from Italy. Looks like maybe Jack Tomlin's former inventory from Utah. Though NOS, some of Jack's were not in pristine condition.

These have brought over a hundred bucks when you can find them. If your RT-524 has the heavy duty handles installed, this won't fit any longer.

If I had the money I'd be interested. Right now I do have covers for all of my radios. I'd even give HTN a shot at one of mine if he'd just agree to work on my project jeep. That and a few "War of Northern Aggression" pieces I have that he might be interested in. I'd be more inclined to think that OhioMG snatched this one up to cover his recent Gilbert RT-524 purchase.

I think I will just start taking my radios apart and resealing them so they are as waterproof as they were originally designed to be. Face it, they were designed to be out in the weather. Replace the seals and there should be no need for a cover. I can be pretty sure I am not going to be out in the type of weather they were designed for anyway.

I received my e-bay purchase today and instead of a cover for an RT524 there was a "Broncos" football jersey with the name "Tebow" on the back. Not much of a cover for a 524. :(

Be very careful about doing business with this e-bay seller. He is a liar and a thief.

I got my RT524 canvas cover today. Took it out the sealed bag. Brand new old stock. Glad I have one. I got the football jersey by mistake. The shipper, who seems kinda like a winehead, finaly sent me what I paid for after I complained to e-bay and pay-Pal. Real slow to take care of business and does not seem to be willing to do what he said he was going to do. I would NEVER buy from this clown again. BEWARE.
