VIC 1 pictures

Unread post by Asesso » May 24th, 2012, 1:46 pm

I would like to see pictures of various installation locations for the AM1780, C2298 control box and LS speaker. I have found NOS units and now have the correct cords for my RT524 radio. The units look so good I would like to position them so that they are easily seen but want to be accurate in their locations
Thanks

There really is no accurate location for a 151 since the VIC-1 was never used in the mutt. It was used in Armor and adapted to gun trucks but never in jeeps that I know of. I guess you could say accurate would be whatever looks and feels best to you.
The 2298 was used as part of the VRC setups using the 524/442 and the 246/246 setups for retransmit and separate receive. In that case the 2298 was mounted on the dash along with the speaker. I think Moose has his set up this way.

Thanks for the info, I thought that might be the case but the equipment looks so good I wanted to include it in my A2. I remember seeing a picture on this site of someone's A2 that had a bracket made for the transmission hump to mount the amplifier. I can't seem to locate the picture

I remember that picture. Moose, Rainman, Tbanks and 199th are the sparkies on here. One of them should be able to come up with something.
