When did the RT-524 become standard issue?

i have a PS magazine with an article entitled "Be Your Own Inspector on the New FM Series Radio", and it's all about the RT524 and related components. it's dated july 1967, so it goes back at least that far.

I think they go back much further than that, early 60's. 63-64 I am thinking because I have seen very few pictures if any of the GRC series radios in 151's.
