Need Help on Value

Unread post by Cobra5 » May 26th, 2014, 12:50 pm

Okay, I found a RT-524A/VRC working condition unknown and these items, battery charger PP-3906/U, and a storage battery - BB-451/U. The individual is asking $350 OBO and wants an offer of the other two items. I haven't planned on buying any radio gear but if its a good deal I just might.

thats about right for a 524 that is complete, but untested. internal parts missing about $100, tested & guaranteed working runs around $550 or so based on overall condition. I have no idea n the battery or charger...

Here's photos of the radio which looks to be complete but don't know if it works. what do you all think? I was going to offer the individual $200.00 for it.

All the modules appear to be there and I don't see any cut wires. That does not mean it works but I would say the price is right for a gamble. Cosmetics are a bit rough though.

It's not demilled, but still a crap shoot if it works. I'd jump on it for $250 but if it's working it' may be worth $450. If it's a working Tadiran mfg, $550. You roll the dice and take your chances. I hope it's a keeper!

The guy will let me have it for $300.00. I think its worth the gamble since stuff like this just doesn't appear often out here. Here's a photo of the data plate. Any comments on the manufacturer as far as reliability goes? Was this manufacturer a common producer?
