At gun show in St Charles today and............

Unread post by raymond » November 25th, 2017, 7:40 pm

........a friend of mine who is a Class 3 dealer had from an estate, a brand new, in box, NOS Colt M16A1, unfired with all the packing still attached. Said he'd give me a good trade for my FN FNC.

Decisions, Decisions :?

Mo is a class 3 state. I'd have to apply for another transfer tax.

Just talked it over with wife, and when I showed her what used ones are going for, she's onboard. Also showed her what my FNC is worth now and she wants to keep it. :D

SOOoooooo, Buy it outright. It's only money and she will only stay onboard for a short time. women have a real short attention span when it comes to the husband spending money on toys.

Even trade you'd be way ahead, I would keep the colt NIB though and you probably shoot the FNC. Investment wise the colt will appreciate more than the fnc. I remember when FNC sears were 1000 bucks ND no one wanted them! How times change.

Wife seldom shoots but does like it. Likes that I am a pretty good shot and have CCW permit. Especially when in St. Louis at night. Also likes the investment aspect of machine guns. Only so many pre 1986 weapons to go around for an increasing number of people who wish to own them.

And it IS nice to live in a FREE STATE :P

Just had to rub that last part in didn't you.  Things keep going the way they are and I fear that is going to change for more and more states. I am a life member of the NRA but I don't think they are helping themselves or the situation at hand by thumping their chests and thumbing their noses! That message is not going over well with the newer generation, This is a new generation of people and I don't like what I am seeing.

Too true. How many of THOSE people does it take to change a light bulb? ONE. They hold the light bulb while the whole world revolves around them.

What is needed is a well researched and then published list of all of the high ranking Democratic AND anti gun people that have CCW licenses. THAT would turn a few heads and I am pretty sure it would quiet down some of those same so called antigun people when the truth comes out that they are not so anti gun now are they.

And I keep hearing the media say that the country's founders could not possibly foresee the efficiency of modern firearms so the second amendment is an anachronism. These same people type such drivel on machines that can reach millions of people with the push of a button. So does that mean the first amendment should only be protected when done with a hand crank moveable type printing press?

P.S. If I can only own firearms from the period of the founding of our country, I want the federal tax rate from the same period :!:
