M-79 mount?
Is, or technically WAS, there a specific M79 mount for a MUTT? I have never seen one that I can remember, but I would think as popular the weapon was in the same time frame as the MUTT, There would be a specific mount. I have a replica M-79 and would like to properly mount it, if it was actually a happenin' thing.

M79 mount
Hey Bill,
Answer-YES. I picked one up years ago at a show in Mass. They were Genuine U.S. made. I installed in on my 65 M151a1. With my CAW79. The base piece was made of thick black rubber with a drain hole. The barrel holder, was spring steel with dipped black vinal to protect the barrel. I have many pics of it. Need to dig out of my files.
I will post some pics! Dave-TankerM60

M79 "BLOOPER/THUMPER" mount
Bill,
I forgot to mention, this mount came as a Kit. It included a mount for SUBMACHINE GUN. YES, BOTH mounts were in the same packaged unit. As a former Tanker, Armor/Armored Cav Guy, these monting kits were for an amored vehicle. The Only submachine guns we had in-servive were the M3's and M3a1's-Greasers!
The submachinegun mount as well was OD gren-paint with the rubber coated ends. I still have this SM mount. The M79 is mounted on my former 65 M151a1. Now in a Museum in Louisiana. Magnify pics to see. This is a Genuine M79 mount. NOT to be Confused with the M79 mount, for the 106mm Recoiless Rifle.
