Airsoft display weapons

Unread post by 42GPW » January 30th, 2010, 10:17 am

Does anyone have a link for the airsoft m-60 machinegun and m-79 grenade launchers? I want to look into those as display weapons on my mutt. (I dont want the m-60e3).

Unfortunatly thats not it. I humped the saw during the first gulf war. Great weapon. But the pig is my favorite. Thanks though.

I use airsoft for almost all of my display weapons. For one thing, since they are not guns, there is not the usual worry at locations I might display about having live guns hanging around. Plus if one is stolen, there is not the worry that it might be used in a crime.

I have the M-79 in airsoft and it is great. If you get the one with the steel barrel you can hardly tell it from the real gun. I get all my guns from these two locations

I just bought an M14 from the megastore and it was well worth the cost. I got it delivered for less than $150.00. All metal and the slide even racks like the real gun. Very nice look, even up close.

I do not have the M-60, but both of these locations do. My 60 is a demilled gun.

In the airsoft arsenal for displays I do have an M3A1, M-16, XM177E2, AK-47, M-79 plus the M-14.

Be aware that some of the airsoft M-60's do not have the hole in the forearm with the pin that allows it to be mounted in an M-142 cradle, check before you buy.

Yes the mounting to th USGI cradle is problematic.... I have two M249s and they do not fit USGI mounts. That being said i do have a mount that uses the M60 "Y" pintel. I had to shave a little off the edges to get it to fit. The m249 I had to drill the front hole out and shave a bunch of aluminum to get in into the mount. Even then it does not fit in the back pin. I would love to get a list started of mfgs and related that make good guns that fit or with little midification. Even the M14s, M16s and the M79 is good info. Who actually makes the M79?

This one looks promising, I don't know if it will fit on an MK142 but i'm sure with a little modification it could. I have a dummy made from parts minus a rear sight, i've been looking for an airsoft M60 parts source to maybe buy a rear sight but have had no luck. Real M60 rear sights are 175.00 plus and i'm not about to lay down that cash for a dummy.
