Something to display with the mutt

Unread post by Motorcityman » February 4th, 2010, 5:22 pm

Pretty excited about it, it's an M18 A1 that has been converted to an M33, they scrubbed the M18 A1 and paint stamped it M33. On the sides it's also stamped/engraved inert. All the accesories included although the instructions on the pouch flap are pretty much gone. The insides are nice and clean with no deterioration around the steel balls. There is a small chip off the cover on the bottom, probably from taking it apart but I can live with it. McM

8) Bob Amon once posted a picture of himself over at G503 with a t-shirt that said "FRONT TOWARD ENEMY".

LOL, ROTFLMAO!!!!

This is nice and reminds me of a story that just hast to be told on this thread. Another team in my National Guard company cleaned the C-4 out of a Claymore and then mounted it to the front of their truck with the wires leading back to the clacker on the dash. It was a real fun novelty item until they tried to enter Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan...

I'm more in line for one of the shirts. Maybe with a G838 logo on the back, but "Front Towards Enemy" on a shirt kicks butt. If anyone ever digs up a picture of that, I'd sure like to see it. :D

I have to ask. Where does one find an inert claymore for sale? Especially in todays society.

I got it on Gunbroker, I have a couple others but they are the straight M33 blue inert claymores that were made from the get go for training. Now I need one that say's M18A1 and i'll be set. If you're just looking for something to display and don't really need all the accesories like the clacker and wire there are several people on the auction sites that sell resin copies for 20-35 dollars.

I had a friend who got tired of city people knocking down his fences to cut across his land. The problem ended after he cast about 100 Claymores out of concrete and mounted them a few feet inside his fenceline at the corner where there was always the problem.

The signs posted on the fence also probably helped:

" WARNING

DO NOT ENTER

SECURE AREA

Perimeter defenses include EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE

DO NOT ENTER"
