I am curious Moose... are you planning on the M-4 W/ ROPS? Other than the special Canadian ROPS kit I am under the impression M-60's and ROPS (the US Variety) are not a good mix? What's you plan Mooseman?

the M-4 and rops work fine together, the cradle is higher than the rops. The rops also gives the gunner something to hang onto while standing up in the back of the jeep. I like that the webbing gives a lot of options for hanging pouches etc using alice clips too....

I have heard that Gun Jeeps, those with M-4's, were not used with ROPS. Opinions in this area are plentiful so I was just curious... were they used in "service" with ROPS? I would venture to say that it might not be feasible. I am thinking that the ROPS would serously reduce the angle of fire of the M60 given the ROPs itself. Either way I am just curious? I have heard too that the Canadian ROPS have mounts built into them, or some of them do at least, for mounting an M60.

the centerbar is behind the pedestal. It doesnt appear to reduce the angle of fire from what I could see. If you depressed the angle of fire enough to have rops be a factor, then it would have been hitting the windshield and hood anyway.

I like the aircraft sight on that M-60... looks sweet Moose. Does anyone have a picture of an M151 in service that has ROPS and a gun mount? I am just curious because while it looks like it would work I can't help but still feel like that center bar would get in the way. Then again the Canadian ROPs are very similar and I hear they are fitted to allow gun mounts.

I'll have to take a good look at the canadian rops, but I haven't seen any with built-in gun mounts. They did have the antenna mounts built in, but I hadn't noticed any with gun mounts.
