More vietnam weaponry for my display - M72A1

M72A1 LAW launcher, dated May of 1967. Complete with sights, caps, pin, and sling.

I'd rather have an airsoft M60, but this is pretty cool. 8)

That's a very nice example. I used to have one dated '72. Funny though, of all the M72s I've seen, I don't remember any of them having a large "US Army" stenciled on them. As for the airsoft M60, I don't know, a yellow plastic BB 105mm in diameter could still be kind of dangerous....... :P :)

EVIKE (among others) has some really nice Airsoft stuff. The higher end items are virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. I have a couple of airsoft M249 SAWs that are indistinguishable from the real thing (and we have a lot of those here in Afghanistan, as you might imagine.)

While occasionally they have trouble filling orders (I'm still waiting for my M60 to arrive after months and months) they are very good about that sort of thing when it happens. They'll send an email explaining the supply trouble and asking what you'd like to do about it, giving you the option of a refund, apply the money to another purchase, or continue to wait. Among other items I've purchased through them, I have an M79 grenade launcher that is absolutely SPOT ON.

They also offer "boneyard" items at greatly reduced prices. These are items that are not functional or are display models only. Same great looks at a lower price.

As for Airsoft on display on MV's...If they're not "loaded" (batteries, BBs and whatnot) the only worries you have is having someone making off with your toys while you're not looking.

Do keep in mind that Airsoft items probably don't have mounts that will withstand a lot of knocking about while on the move.

Cheers,
TJ in the Astan

I've never seen any with "US ARMY" markings like that before either and shoulder launched goodies are my forte if you will, I have a few different variations of the M72 as well as the rockets. Definately a Keeper and I have first dibs for when you want to sell  I always have one under the flap of my backpack that sits in my A1 when I go crusing.

Here's one of mine, I believe its dated 72, or 73.

Here's the Soviet version that they copied off us, RPG-18 with an RPG-7 above it for referance in size.

Cool collection, Joe! I've never even seen an RPG-8!

If I do someday sell, you get first dibs. but I do plan on keeping it for now. It is a really nice example, I doubt I can upgrade much. I like the "US ARMY" marking as well.

Like I said, I'd much rather have an M60 for the truck anyway.

After a convoy ambush February 1971, I had to stand behind a table with some of the captured weapons after the "wheels" flew in and do a "dog & pony show".

Nice Photo Ralph! Interesting to see a Polish KBKG WZ 60 AK47, usually all I ever see is chicom AK's with an ocassional Russian, Hungarian or Romanian in the mix of Vietnam war era photos. With your permission i'm going to save that pic for future reference if you don't mind. The RPD was a common sight over there, damn good SAW for it's day, I have a Russian parts kit that i'm going to build one of these days. RPG-2/B40, I have one of those already :D

Edit to add: The AXE is from my mutt, lol.
