RPG-7 Training Aid

Unread post by m151dave » March 30th, 2012, 10:03 am

I have an RPG-7 training aid that I am thinking about selling. It is the standard Army issue inert training aid. I am trying to figure out what sort of prices these things bring in. Mine is complete with removable projectile, it is intact and in great condition. I tried to find some on the web to get an idea, but could not find anything on price.

Do any of you have any experience with this sort of thing?

My job is forcing me to move to another state and I may be putting more of my collection up for sale. This includes an M-416 trailer, older style tail lights, not composite. I plan to get some pictures taken and posted for that. Other possible items on the list include a spare engine for a Mutt, semi torn down, with a bunch of spare parts - transmissions, differentials, misc engine parts.

Really sucks that I have to move at my age to keep a job, but I can't retire yet. Three years of taking care of elderly parents has ruled that option out. OK, pity party over.........

Please respond if you have some good info on the RPG. Many thanks.

The going rate for the rubber training aide depending on condition and finish is in the 200-300 dollar range. I see them for sale all the time but i'm always on the hunt for RPG related gear.

There were two different designs, i'll need to see a pic to tell you which one you have.

Here are a couple of pictures of my RPG-7. Just as a reminder, I am trying to place a fair value on it so that I might sell it.

Never saw an actual RPG round with the fins. I have seen the round sticking out of the tube, a few in flight but was too fast to see any detail.
I had a friend who was the target of an RPG, the charge missed him but the fins cut his forearm the whole length.
For years I wondered what the fins could have been like to have done that with out the charge going off. Now I know.
Thanks for solving the mystery.

Thats the later version and it looks like it's in decent shape. I say it's worth an honest $275 maybe more to the right person, I have an identical one in my collection.

Here's what the real thing looks like, Bulgarian RPG-7b (inert).

The Rocket's designation is a PG-7

Here's a pic of the same rubber rocket as Dave's next to a real launcher.
