Sgt. Sam, sorry we took your thread for a ride here, we tend to do that occasionally. I can't say I ever saw a can cover if that is what you are talking about. You say gun jeeps so I an guessing you are talking mounted 60 or 50. I am thinking it was probably made locally? Try contacting Dave Pizziforratto on here or his site, ODcloth.com, and he may be able to make you something. Or he may know about the real thing if it did indeed exist.

Well I don't know what the hell some of you were doing over there In 1966and67 I was conducting Convoy escort service
And when you had misfires from wet ammo It got my boys shot. Don't believe that was funny.

Sam, Don't go flying off the handle here. I was a hog hauler also and when mine misfired it was the same result, people died. I cleared the round and moved on, that's what we were trained to do. Ammo misfired, I don't give a damn whether it was wet or dry it will misfire once in a while. It only does it at the worse times too. If you were running convoy escort you at least had the pleasure of more than one gun, us foot sloggers had one pig per group. We also did not have the luxury of keeping ammo dry when fording streams up to our necks in water.

Remember Sam, It was not just "your" boys, We were all brothers over there.
Sorry for the defensive posture but I don't take well to it when someone insinuates that I think people dieing is funny.

Sam

No offense was intended. We do, however, jump at any chance to gig Seabee.
