Hey guys before I take this project on , I was wondering if any of you have tried or have successfully adapted propane to simulate fireing of a weapon?

I've never seen it done with an Airsoft gun. If it is all metal it would probably be doable. I'm not sure how much force is exerted on the barrel when firing propane or what the temperatures are. What kind of gun are you looking to convert? You'd need a solid inner barrel and you may have to custom make the trigger group depending on the type of gun.

Green Gas is basically propane. The big difference is in the lubricant they add. If you have a green gas blowback airsoft, you can use propane but you have to manually oil each charge. This is how I load my air soft stuff from the 1lb propane cans. If you have a C02 gun, I think the adapters and tanks would make this conversion cost and aesthetically prohibitive.
