Final Resting Place - Pakistan

Unread post by sarmadq » September 15th, 2009, 3:36 am

Hi all, posting a few pictures from one of the largest yards in Pakistan. Prices start from $1,700/- & are negotiable. All uncut, naturally the good ones have already been sold.

Majority of them left has very clear signs of 'roll-overs' ........... mind you that Pak-Army did not opt for nor install ROPS.

As bad as some of the M151s look, I wonder what happened to the drivers. :(

I guess they got up, brushed themselves up and went about driving tanks for a while

The weigh & pay section is the best. It goes by the kilos, so whatever you can put in one, you only pay for the kilo's price of it. Like the 'as much as you can grab' golf tees for a $

Hey Baios,
I wonder what an A2 windshield would cost you by the pound?

Hello
The one on the left in the first photo looks as if it's frowning :( poor....poor, sad mutt. In the backround of the third picture nestled between two civilian 4X4s is what appears to be an M38A1 (or variant there of). And for my final backround observation( :P ) is that one of those British Leyland (or Bedford) cargo trucks in the upper right hand corner of the sixth picture?

Thanks for posting,
Matt

Matt, your observations are 100% correct. You've won a 5 night trip to the yard :). Jay, I'm gonna be going over sometime next month to try and salvage some, or atleast get something out of the weigh & pay lot

Very true. I still almost tear up when I think of all the historical pieces that were intentionally destroyed by the government. It makes me that much more appreciative of the chance I now have to preserve at least one.

Yes the Demill is the real sin, but hey...no worries its only tax payers money, we can always get more, they don't seem to care how we waist it, or at least they can't be bothered to let us know how they feel...... bunch of SOB's (sorry fellows, this kind of stuff gets me going), wasting perfectly good equipment because some idiot might use it wrong does not make a lot of sense to me.... :?: :!:  But what do I know?????
