Ancient Chinese secret on the black paint :P .... .I learned this from a radio guy that rebuilds for the military.. I had him rebuil d a 524, 422, 246 & 2PRC-77s. Obviously they came back BEAUTIFUL! and a little $$$ but thats another story.. anyway he said he uses an eraser on a pencil :?. Well zippity doo it works... just start out with a little on there otherwise it will glob. Dab it on alittle at a time. But its all about the details and crisp lines 8)
The heater did get painted sand today.
Also as you can see I decided on some markings. Since I was going 4 color desert and thats what was on these jeeps when I was a kid, ever so enamered with anything military. I have lots of pictures of M151s around here. Almost everything around here is National guard. So.... I go on the AZNG web site and found and EOD unit. (wanted something with some pizazz
I got 2 more weekends after this to finsih for the show here in AZ

Well I hope I got the marking correct  The EOD unit appered to be a sub unit of the artillery unit. So thats how I marked it. Well if not it still looks good  HEY! Also does your buddy have any emblems I can paint on the vehicle. I looked up the unit "emblem" but I still have not figured out a way to transpose it to a stencil I can paint on.

Like I said it will be done for the show we have here at Falcon field at the end of the month

I would guess a forklift, did you notice the engine hoist on top of the storage box in the back ground?

Rick: This guy was holding the Jeep up in the air. He did it in Vietnam too.

Picked up with forklift with a strap though the pintel hook.
Yea we do not use the engine hoist much when you have two forklifts. It is more used inside buildings or tight areas we can not get a forklift. Also it is sitting on a 1953 M119 semi Trailer :D Got t keep as much USGI as possible :D
We got a TON of stuff done this week.... Being done by next Thursday is looking good.
