Aberdeen 2010

Unread post by csmith » May 22nd, 2010, 10:16 pm

Just got back from my first Aberdeen and it was a blast. Met new friends, good fellowship, learned a lot about 151's including my owe, spent quality time with my son, what more could one want for the weekend :!: Photos to follow:

Some mutts on display
Image

Image

Mr & Mrs Rick F and his 151 (what a job Rick did to get his mutt ready, the rework looked like new!) (Happy Birthday Rick!)
Image

Jim Diamond and his killer Tow A2 (I thought this was the most authentic 151there, looked like it drove in from Desert Storm)

I will put up a couple of pictures tonight but the rest will have to wait until tomorrow. Not feeling too well. Got slammed in the judging area this year, more vehicles to be judged than I can ever remember. The A1 you see me judging was almost perfect. I remember when this was sold it was in real bad shape. In one year it is almost a 300 score!

Image

Here is that A1 next to mine.

Another shot

Image

This one the detail was as good or better but some of the finish was off a little. He was in motor pool class where the other was in Factory so they both made out.

Image

This ought to give some of you flashbacks!

Image

Image

Matt, this was when it was illegally parked in a fire zone. :D
Image

We made him lift off and move over ten feet.

Image

Dinnertime and no he was sitting, not s**itting, wife had bad timing on the shutter.

Image

Left to right, Ian and Clell Smith and Jim Diamond

Image

Host and head cook, Cabell Garbee, Reclining. Thanks for the great dinner Cabell. :D :D :D

Image

I want one!

Image

And the hauler to go with it. Privateer with a contract to haul for the government. SWEET JOB!

Image

Now I have heard it said that I spoil my dog, I will show that I do not.

Image

Oh yea, Someone wanted a day after pic, here you go.

Image

The thing is that I would have felt better with a hangover! My back was in really bad shape after carrying my welding bench into the garage and stepping in a hole while doing so.

I will post some more pics in the near future.

One of the mutt's in the handicap spots was mine and I needed it that day!

Baios, I am only 6'3", The biggest problem is getting in and out with my bad knees and back.

Hey Rick,
Great pictures of the event and the dinner.
